DeltaCopy error on Vista: "@ERROR: chdir failed"

I want to use DeltaCopy to backup a Linux-based Web site to a Windows Vista computer.
I had DeltaCopy doing what I wanted on an XP computer, but I can't get it working with Vista.
When I run the rsync command on the Linux computer, I get the following error:

@ERROR: chdir failed
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (33 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(165)

Any suggestions?

OK, after trying just about every combination of setting for DeltaCopy and my firewall and my router, I managed to get DeltaCopy working, using a Linux server as the client and a Windows Vista PC as the DeltaCopy server.

I'm glad you did, but how?

I'm trying to back up files on Windows7 to a remote Windows 2008 server.

I can telnet from the client to the remote service, but on attempting a backup I get this error:

How can I get past this? Been beating my head all day!
