Hi !

One of DeltaCopy's limitation is the support of file name + path less than 255 characters.
I've got path + files of more than 255 characters ...

Is there a trick to bypass this ?

I've seen information on replacing cygwin1.dll, but it's only for characters code support ?

thanks,
Laurent

I am also interested in a workaround for long filenames, if anyone has any advice.

Thank you.

Hello, best way to solve this is to use the new cygwin testing branch version 1.7.x

It does not support win 9.x and because of this, can support the > 255 filename limit.

Howto:
1. Download and install cygwin 1.7.x on your local computer. Make sure to install rsync from the NET package
2. Replace the .dll and .exe files in the <Windows>\Deltacopy directory with the new versions from your local pc install of cygwin.
3. Make sure to do this on the client and server

That's all. It works on my installation.

I have been using delta copy and I am also running into the same issues were the file name is too long. I did see the previous post to update the cygwin to the latest 7.1. I downloaded the setup but have no idea how to install it. It asks me for a dl site but dont know what to download. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
